Do you know that Flash could communicate with the base HTML? You just add a javascript function to operate in HTML, then call in Flash using getURL(”javascript:someFunction(’arg1′,’arg2′)”); That’s all~

But, an important thing is that;”getURL function” works correctly only if its argument’s text length is less than 255.

So I use a trick as below:

In HTML Part,

//This function is used when length of the argument is less than 255. function SaveMelo(value) { write.memo.value = value; write.submit(); } // This function merges transfering data function AddMelo(value) { write.memo.value = write.memo.value + value; } function SubmitMelo() { // When all data is transfered, you call submit function in Flash write.submit(); }

In Flash ActionScript Part,

function StartSubmit() { tempSubmit=”Something Long Text to transfer to HTML…”; // If you using loop statement such as for or while to call getURL, that statements occurs error for abnormal sync. tempSubmitID = setInterval(this,’SubmitStr’,100); } function SubmitStr() { if (tempSubmit.length>0) { //Maximum length is set to 221, because you should take care of the rest of statement, “javascript:AddMelo”. getURL(”javascript:AddMelo(’”+tempSubmit.substr(0,221)+”‘)”); tempSubmit=tempSubmit.substring(221,tempSubmit.length); } else { getURL(”javascript:SubmitMelo()”); clearInterval(tempSubmitID); } }
